R.E.A.D.

Healing Paws, Inc. Wisconsin participates in the R.E.A.D. ( Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program. This program is dedicated to improving the skills of young readers by using therapy dog teams as literacy mentors. Studies have shown that reading to therapy dogs helps children relax, increases their interest and improves their reading skills.

All of our R.E.A.D. teams have been certified through Intermountain Therapy Animals a nonprofit organization in Salt Lake City, Utah whose mission is to enhance the quality of life through human/animal interaction.
